I have already given you my forecast and betting advice for the main event at UFC 218 (Aldo vs Holloway). Now the moneylines and props are out for the rest of the card, it’s time for a UFC 218 deep dip. Which underdogs have value? Which struggles should bettors avoid? How do you put together a parlay from the conflicts on tap? Let’s take a look. Francis Ngannou (-270) vs. Alistair Overeem (+230) Alistair Overeem might get merked by a bigger and stronger puncher in Francis Ngannou, but at +230, he is worth throwing a few pennies at. Normally I would put this struggle in the stay-away class, but this really is a big test for Ngannou, a guy who hasn’t been tested yet. Overeem is a veteran of the sport and, though his chin might be suspect, he’s one of the best fight IQs in the heavyweight division. His smarts and kickboxing ability could provide a large upset to us together with a nice profit. Do not go crazy with this, however. Ngannou deserves to be preferred. Overeem is worth a small bet. Felice Herrig (-140) vs. Cortney Casey (+110) Cortney Casey is not a huge dog, but her +105 moneyline would still net you a good yield and/or promote a parlay. Both fighters have appeared solid, but stylistically, Casey seems to have the strength and size to provide Herrig issues. The only woman who has been able to match Casey’s physicality was Claudia Gadelha and that woman is among the best in the branch. If Casey could pour on the pressure, she can overwhelm Herrig and get a small upset win . Again, do not go mad and throw down your whole bankroll, but Casey is well worth a couple of shekels.
